1. Snowstorms cause extensive damage
Problems with greenhouses, barns, water gauges, etc.

The heavy snowfall in recent weeks caused a number of problems.

The provincial disaster management agency says 30 farms have reported vinyl greenhouse damage covering some 84,000 square meters.

The roof of the Jeju City Five-day Market was damaged, as were some cattle barns in the mid-slope region.

Crops weren’t spared??growers reported problems on 15-hundred acres of white radishes, outdoor-grown Hallabong, and broccoli. More than 800 water gauges froze solid.

The province is drawing up a support and recovery plan while it collects damage reports through local community centers.

폭설 피해 잇따라…하우스·축사·계량기 파손

며칠째 이어진 폭설에 따른 피해가 계속해서 늘고 있습니다.

제주도재난대책본부에 따르면 지금까지 접수된 농업비닐하우스 피해는 30농가에 8만 4천 제곱미터에 이르고 있습니다.

또 제주시 민속오일장의 지붕과 중산간 일부 축사 역시 폭설에 피해를 입었습니다.

월동무와 노지한라봉, 브로콜리 등 농작물 1천 500헥타아르가 언 피해를 입었고 수도계량기 동파 신고는 800건을 넘었습니다.

제주도는 각 읍면동주민센터를 통해 피해를 접수하는 한편 지원과 복구계획을 수립할 예정입니다.
