Province considering \950b in bonds over next 5 years

The provincial government is considering issuing municipal bonds to purchase private city park land that has remained undeveloped for an extended period.

Provincial officials say it would cost more than 730 billion won to purchase the 43 plots. All of them are subject to a sunset provision in 2020.

The province is considering issuing 950 billion won in bonds over a five-year period, beginning next year. It would use the funding to make prioritized purchases of the city parks.

The land ministry will cover 50 percent of the interest for the bonds for five years if the province goes ahead with the plan.

'일몰제' 도시공원 매입…지방채 발행 검토

제주특별자치도가 장기미집행 도시공원 사유지 매입을 위해 지방채 발행을 검토하고 있습니다.

제주도에 따르면 2020년 일몰제 대상인 43개 도시공원 지구 보상비가 7천 300억원이 넘을 것으로 추산됩니다.

이에따라 내년부터 5년동안 9천 500억 원 규모의 지방채를 발행해 우선 매입 대상 공원의 보상 재원으로 활용할 계획입니다.

국토부도 지자체가 도시공원 매입을 위해 지방채를 발행할 경우 5년 간 이자의 50%를 지원할 방침입니다.
