Restrictions on poultry shipments lifted

Authorities say the avian influenza antigens discovered in Hado-ri, Gujwa-eup, Jeju City are of a low-pathogenic variety.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs restricted poultry shipments within 10 kilometers of the site after antigens of the H5 strain of AI were discovered in bird excrement on December 3rd.

Following detailed testing, provincial authorities determined on Sunday that the antigens were of a low-pathogenic variety.

The province therefore lifted restrictions on poultry shipments.

구좌읍 하도리 AI 바이러스 '저병원성' 판정

제주시 구좌읍 하도리에서 조류인플루엔자 항원이 검출되었지만 다행히 바이러스는 저병원성인 것으로 판정됐습니다.

농림축산식품부는
지난 3일 하도리에서 채취한 야생조류 분변에서
H5형 AI 항원이 검출됨에 따라
반경 10km를 대상으로 조류 이동을 통제하고
차단 방역을 강화하였습니다.

하지만 지난 9일 제주도는 바이러스에 대한 정밀검사 결과 다행히 저병원성으로 판정됐다고 밝혔습니다.

제주도는 저병원성으로 판정됨에 따라 반경 10km 가금류 사육농가에 대한 이동제한 조치를 해제하기로 했습니다.
