Jeju City will begin the development of the Hwabuk Commercial District this March?thirty-some years after the project was proposed.

Jeju City officials will this month plan and implement land replotting procedures, including the official announcement of the plan and the designation of land subject to replotting. After that’s finished, they will place construction orders in March.

The 216,000-square-meter district is located north of Jeju Dong Middle School. The city will invest 56.8 billion won to build public housing, commercial facilities, parking lots, and other facilities at the site through 2022.

화북상업지역 도시개발, 3월 공사 착수

30여년 만에 추진되는 제주시 화북상업지역 도시개발사업이 오는 3월 본격 공사에 들어갑니다.

제주시는 이달 안으로 화북상업지역 개발사업에 대한 환지계획을 수립하고 계획 공람, 환지예정지 지정 절차를 이어간다고 밝혔습니다.

환지 관련 절차가 마무리되면 3월부터 기반시설 공사를 발주할 계획입니다.

화북상업지역은 제주동중학교 북쪽 21만 6천여 제곱미터 부지에 2022년까지 568억 원을 들여 공동주택, 상업시설, 주차장 부지 등을 조성하게 됩니다.
