4. Lack of new students leads to 3 school closures
Schools on Biyang-do, Mara-do, and Chuja-do to close

Three elementary schools and their attached kindergartens will be closed because no new students enrolled this year.

The provincial education office has decided to close Hallim’s Biyang Branch Elementary School, Gapa-do’s Mara Branch Elementary, and Shinyang Branch Elementary School in Chuja-do.

This will be the first time the Biyang school has closed since it opened in 1953.

The kindergartens and schools will be closed from March 1st through February 29th next year.


신입생 없어 가파초 비양분교장 등 3곳 휴교

신입생이나 재학생이 없어 올해 문을 닫는 학교와 병설유치원이 3군데로 나타났습니다.

제주도교육청은 한림초등학교 비양분교와 가파초등학교 마라분교, 추자초등학교 신양분교 병설유치원에 대해 휴교와 휴원 결정을 내렸다고 밝혔습니다.

특히 비양분교는 지난 1953년 개교 이래 처음으로 휴교하기로 했습니다.

이들 분교와 유치원은 오는 3월 1일부터 내년 2월 29일까지 1년간 휴교 또는 휴원하게 됩니다.
