1. Jeju revokes conditional approval of Greenland Int’l Hospital
Province, JDC to continue promoting health tourism

The provincial government canceled the conditional approval of Greenland International Hospital.

Governor Won Hee-ryong said at the press conference on Wednesday that the decision was made after a thorough review on the written opinion and report submitted at the recent hearing.

The local government’s reasons for cancellation are the hospital’s lack of effort and excuse to start operation within the three month period stipulated by the Medical Law.

Governor Won added that the provincial office will actively address any legal issues following the decision.

The provincial government will continue to promote the health tourism industry and push for cooperative efforts with JDC and Greenland Group to normalize operations of the Healthcare Town.

제주특별자치도가
녹지국제병원의 조건부 개설허가를 취소하기로 결정했습니다.

원희룡 제주특별자치도지사는
오늘(17일) 오전 제주도청 기자실에서 기자회견을 갖고
녹지국제병원 청문에 따른
청문주재자의 조서와 의견서를 종합적으로 검토한 결과
정당한 사유없이
의료법에서 정한 3개월의 기한을 넘겨 개원하지 않았고
개원을 위한 노력도 없다고 판단해 이같이 결정했다고 밝혔습니다.

또 이후에 있을지 모르는
소송 등 법률 문제에 적극 대처하겠다고 덧붙였습니다.

다만 법적 문제와는 별도로
의료관광산업을 육성하기 위한 제주도의 노력은 계속될 것이며,
헬스케어타운이 제대로 된 가능을 가질 수 있도록
JDC, 녹지측과 정상화 방안을 협의해 나가겠다고 강조했습니다.
