5. Gov’t to begin local CPR awareness campaign
Beginner and advanced classes will be offered at two training centers
The provincial government will intensify promotions to enhance local awareness of CPR training starting next month.
Officials have organized training sessions at Halla Stonybrook Emergency Medical Education Center and Jeju National University in hopes to have at least one person per household to be able to perform CPR.
Islanders will be able to choose from beginner and advanced courses, their training hours ranging from 80 minutes to 4 hours.
It is reported that CPR is a key to survival in the case of sudden cardiac arrest. CPR is known to double or triple the chances of survival.
