Total value of construction orders drops by 58%

Jeju is undergoing an economic downturn.

Statistics Korea’s report on the local economic trends showed that the total value of local construction orders in both the public and private sectors for the first quarter this year was about 209 billion won, marking a 58 percent drop from the same period last year.

The first quarter’s exports also fell by 19.5 percent to 41.6 billion won due to sluggish sales in the local manufacturing industry.

건설업과 수출 등 전반에 걸쳐 침체 국면인 것으로 나타났습니다.

통계청이 발표한 제주지역경제동향에 따르면
올해 1분기 제주지역 건설수주액은 약 2천 90억 원으로
공공과 민간부문이 모두 감소하며 지난해에 비해 58%이상 줄었습니다.

올해 1분기 수출액 역시
제조업 분야의 감소로 416억 원에 머물며
지난해 같은 기간에 비해
19.5% 준 것으로 나타났습니다.
