3. Islanders face burden from renting parking lots
Public parking fees topping 1 million won a year

The Jeju Municipal Office announced decisions to lower public parking lots long-term rent fees in an attempt to alleviate islander’s financial burden from the parking proof requirement regulations that will be implemented from this July.

Local officials announced to lower annual public parking lot fees from 1.2 million won to 975 thousand won in “Dong” administrative districts and 900 thousand won to 731 thousand 250 won in “eup” and “myeon” administrative districts.

Islanders will be allowed to rent public parking lots for up to 2 years as a preparation period to secure private parking spaces.

All local residents are required to secure private parking spaces within a 1km radius from their residence for all newly purchased cars and the cars owned by people moving. Compact cars are exempt from the regulation.

제주시가 차고지증명제에 따른 공영주차장 임대료를 낮추기로 했지만
여전히 서민들의 부담은 높기만 합니다.

제주시는 차고지증명제가 7월부터 확대 시행됨에 따라
다음달부터 공영주차장 연간임대료를
동지역은 현재 120만원에서 97만5천원으로,
읍면지역은 90만원에서 73만1천250원으로 인하한다고 밝혔습니다.

또 차고지를 확보할 수 있는 준비기간을 제공하기 위해
최대 2년간 공영주차장을 임대할 수 있도록 했습니다.

오는 7월 1일부터
소형을 제외한 모든 자동차를 구입하거나 주소지를 옮길 경우
거주지에서
직선거리 1km이내에 차고지를 확보해야 합니다.
