4. 940 species of rare plants and animals inhabit Chujado Unrecorded indigenous fungi and arthropods also discovered

A series of unrecorded plants and animals have been found in Chujado Island.

A joint study conducted in 2018 by the local government and national biodiversity center found 940 species of rare animals and plants inhabiting the Chujado Island.

Unrecorded species of mushrooms, moths, and spiders were discovered on the island.

Local officials plan to use the results of the study as a basis to monitor changes in natural resources.

추자지역에서 한국미기록종의 식물과 곤충이 잇따라 발견됐습니다.

제주도와 국가생물다양성기관연합이
지난한해동안
추자도 일대에서 공동학술조사를 실시한 결과
940여종의 희귀 동식물이 서식하는 것으로 나타났습니다.

특히 국내미기록종인
버섯류와 나방류, 거미류가
추자도에서 서식하는 것으로 확인됐습니다.

제주도는 이번에 조사된 결과를 바탕으로
자연자원의 변화를 위한 기초자료로 활용할 예정입니다.
