3. Local garlic purchase price increases to ￦2,300 per kg
￦300 increase from previous price

The purchase price of locally grown garlic is increasing to 2,300 won per kg. This is a 300 won increase from the previously set purchase price.

The local garlic cooperatives which are comprised of representatives from the local branch of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation held a special general meeting on Thursday and set the price of local garlic at 2,300 won per kg.

Previously, the cooperatives had decided to set the price of local garlic at 2,000 won per kg. However, the cooperatives encountered strong opposition from farmers asking for an increase in the price.

앞서 마늘제주협의회는
수매단가를 2천원으로 결정했다가
생산비 보장을 요구하는 농민들의
강력한 반발을 샀습니다.
