3. Summer vacation season officially begins
Province urges tourists to abide by COVID-19 prevention policies

The number of tourists coming into Jeju is expected to surge due to the peak summer season, and the preventive measures against COVID-19 are on high alert.

According to the Jeju Tourism Association, 99,000 tourists visited Jeju during the last weekend of June, more than double from two months ago. However, some tourists are not abiding by the prevention policies, by not wearing masks properly or failing to maintain distance from other people, which is fueling anxiety from within Jeju.

The province has asked tourists to comply with the precautionary rules, as a series of COVID-19 cases have been confirmed amongst tourists to Jeju Island.

3. 본격 여름 휴가철 시작…"방역 수칙 지켜야"

본격적인 여름 성수기를 맞아
제주를 찾는 관광객이 급증할 것으로 예상되며
방역에 비상이 걸렸습니다.

제주도관광협회에 따르면
지난 주말만 하더라도 제주를 찾은 관광객은
9만 9천여 명으로
두달 전과 비교해 두배 이상 늘었습니다.

하지만 일부 관광객들이
마스크를 제대로 착용하지 않거나
거리두기를 지키지 않는 등
방역 수칙을 준수하지 않고 있어
불안감이 증폭되고 있습니다.

제주도는
제주 여행 직후
코로나19 확진 판정을 받는 사례가 잇따라 발생하는 만큼
제주도를 찾는 관광객들에게 예방수칙 준수를 당부했습니다.
