Jeju's 59th COVID-19 case confirmed
Tests positive after follow-up exam during self-quarantine

Jeju Island’s 59th COVID 19 patient has been confirmed.

The province confirmed that a patient with a history of overseas visits has been confirmed with COVID 19 at 7:30 p.m. on the 23rd.

The patient returned to Korea from a trip to the United States with the province’s 49th patient, who is a family member that tested positive upon arrival, and has been in self-quarantine since September 8th.

Patient no. 59 initially tested negative at Jeju Airport's walk-through screening center, but later confirmed positive after a follow-up test was taken on the 23rd, which was during the self-quarantine period. The patient is currently undergoing isolation treatment.

Jeju Island expects that there will be no other contacts or movement points, as the individual has maintained self-quarantine regulations.

해외 방문 이력이 있는 A씨가
코로나19 확진 판정을 받았다고 밝혔습니다.

A씨는
제주 49번 확진자의 가족으로,
지난 8일 49번 확진자와 함께
미국에서 입국해 자가 격리를 해왔습니다.

A씨는 입도 당시
제주공항 워크스루 선별진료소에서
검사한 결과 음성 판정을 받았지만,
자가격리를 이어오던 중 23일 추가 검사에서
확진 판정을 받고 격리 치료에 들어갔습니다.

제주도는 A씨가
그동안 자가격리를 유지했다고 진술함에 따라
접촉자나 이동 동선이 없을 것으로 예상하고 있습니다.
