Debate on readjustment of administrative city in Jeju held
Dr. Choi argued dividing Jeju City into east and west Jeju City
 
A policy debate to adjust the administrative districts of Jeju Island was held at the provincial council on the 9th.

In the debate organized by the Jeju Council's Autonomy Administration Committee, Dr. (최지민) Choi Ji-min of the Korea Institute of Local Administration pointed out that the current administrative system has issues such as budget imbalance caused by population difference and insufficient public administrative services.

In order to resolve this, he argued that it is reasonable to separate Jeju City from east to west and readjust the administrative city to three areas.

At the same time, he advised that the province should take measures of increasing the number of civil servants and securing government offices if the administrative district is adjusted according to the current parliamentary constituency.

현재 양 행정시 체제는
인구 편차로 인한 예산 불균형 그리고 미흡한 대민 행정서비스 등의
부작용을 낳고 있다고 지적했습니다.

이를 해소하기 위해서는
제주시를 동서로 구분해
행정시를 3개 권역으로 조정하는 것이
타당하다고 주장했습니다.

그러면서
현행 국회의원 선거구 대로 행정시 권역을 조정할 경우 수반되는
공무원 증원이나 청사 확보 방안은
제주도에서 보완해야 한다고 조언했습니다.
