Province encourages islanders to sign up public transportation discount card
Card allows residents to receive up to 30% discount

Starting this year, a public transportation discount card has been introduced that allows residents to receive up to a 30% discount on public transportation fees. Local governments are encouraging people to sign up.

The discount card was introduced in the province in February. The system allows residents to get a discount of up to 30% when paying for public transportation by accumulating mileage which can be earned by walking or cycling via a dedicated app.

More than 600 people have signed up for the program in Jeju, and a discount of 3.3 million won was provided.

The province encourages residents to join as more benefits have been included in the plan, such as offering additional mileage when using public transportation at dawn.



6. '대중교통 30% 할인' 알뜰교통카드 가입 독려

올해부터 대중교통 이용 요금을
최대 30% 할인 받을 수 있는 알뜰교통카드가 도입된 가운데
지자체가 가입을 독려하고 있습니다.

알뜰교통카드는 전용 앱을 통해
걷는 거리나 자전거 이동거리를 마일리지로 적립해
대중교통 요금 결제시 최대 30%를 할인 받는 제도로
지난 2월부터 제주에 도입됐습니다.

도입 3개월 째 제주에서는 6백여 명이 가입했고,
330만 원의 요금 할인 혜택이 제공됐습니다.

제주도는
새벽에 대중교통을 이용하면 추가 마일리지를
지급하는 등 혜택이 늘어난 만큼
보다 많은 도민들의 가입을 당부했습니다.
