Gangjeong water purification plant to supply tap water from the 30th
No larvae found after installation of precision filtration device
The Gangjeong water purification plant which put a halt to its operations due to larvae discovered in the waters last February will resume supplying tap water to Seogwipo City from the 30th.
After larvae was discovered in a house in Bomok-dong, Seogwipo City on February 25th, the province announced that the installation of a filtration device successfully filtered the water supply system from larvae.
It was decided to add additional filtration equipment by early June in order to contain any larvae that may exist in the raw water resource.
In addition, policies will reinforce enhancements to be made to the aging water purification facilities while making efforts to increase financial support from the central government for the project to improve water purification plants next year.
