6 cases of uninsured, unregistered vehicles uncovered
Police conduct crackdown since March

Since March, the Jeju Municipal Police has been working with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the Korea Transportation Safety Authority, and the administrative cities to conduct a special crackdown on the use of unregistered and uninsured vehicles a total of 6 cases were uncovered.

According to the report, a 50-year-old offender was caught for deferring approximately 30 fines for 11 years after purchasing and failing to register ownership transfer of a vehicle. The offender bought the vehicle at a cheap price from a Chinese man who has since left the country.

Another offender was caught for illegally operating a car without liability insurance. It was reported that the violator purchased the car under a Chinese name after it became difficult to purchase a car due to credit delinquency.

3. 자치경찰단, 대포차 - 무보험차량 6대 적발

제주자치경찰단이 지난 3월부터
국토교통부, 교통안전공단, 행정시 등과 공조해
일명 대포차와
무보험 차량에 대한 특별단속을 벌여 6대를 적발했습니다.

적발된 내용을 보면
50살의 A씨는
평소 알고 지내던 중국인의 출국으로
시세보다 싼값에 차량을 매입해
소유권 이전등록 없이
1년동안 30여건의 과태료를 체납해 오다 적발됐습니다.

B씨는
신용불량자로 차량구매가 어려워지자
평소 알고 지내던 중국인 명의로 구입한 후
책임보험에도
가입하지 않은 채 불법으로 운행하다 단속되기도 했습니다.
