Renaming of Jeju National Cemetery proposed
Lawmaker Song Jae-ho proposed revision bill

The renaming of the Jeju National Cemetery which is scheduled to open in December is proposed.

Lawmaker (송재호) Song Jae-ho of the Democratic Party of Korea proposed a revision bill of the installment of the National Cemetery.

Lawmaker Song said that the name of (호국원) Ho Guk-won should be changed to National Memorial Board prior to the opening of the park as the current name has limitations in reflecting respectful courtesy to persons of national merit.

오는 12월 개원 예정인
국립제주호국원의 명칭을
국립제주현충원으로 변경하는 방안이 추진됩니다.

더불어민주당 송재호 의원은
이같은 내용을 담은
국립묘지 설치와 운영에 관한 법률 개정안을 발의했습니다.

호국원이라는 명칭으로는
국가유공자에 대한 합당한 예우에 한계를 보이는 만큼
개원에 앞서
명칭을 변경하는 것이라고 송 의원은 밝혔습니다.
