Governor Won, provincial council chairman meet prime minister
They request vaccines for 490,000 people for mass immunization
The provincial government and the provincial council have officially proposed to Seoul to vaccinate Jeju residents first.
Governor Won Hee-ryong and Joa Nam Soo, the Chairman of the Provincial Council, visited the Seoul Government Complex on the 11th to meet with Prime Minister (김부겸) Kim Boo-kyum and requested that vaccines for 490,000 people and 70% of residents, which is the amount required for mass immunization to be assigned to Jeju.
Prime Minister Kim replied that he would review the proposal with related agencies, including the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency after expressing his agreement on using Jeju as a nationwide model for herd immunity.
The meeting also discussed the need for state financial contributions to support tourism companies, which have suffered economic losses due to preventive quarantine measures against infectious diseases.

또 이 자리에서는 국가 감염병 예방조치로 경제적 손실을 입은 관광사업체 피해지원을 위한 국가 재정 출연금 필요성도 논의됐습니다.
