Crackdown on Illegal Livestock Products

Jeju Island will conduct a special crackdown on the distribution of illegal livestock products ahead of the Lunar New Year for five days from the 10th.

The crackdown will target meat product manufacturers,
meat packing plants,
and large discount stores
and in addition it will focus on the illegal activities
including handling ‘out of date’ products and violation of origin labeling.

In particular, the province is planning
to investigate online stores as well.
as online purchases and deliveries
are expected to increase due to the spread of COVID-19.

The province will take legal action
against violators that will include criminal charges
and an order to suspend business operations.



설 명절 앞두고 부정축산물 유통 단속

제주도가 설 명절을 앞두고
오는 10일부터 닷새 동안
부정축산물 유통 여부를 단속합니다.

단속 대상은
제수용 육류 제품과 선물세트 제조업소,
식육포장처리업소, 대형마트 등으로
유통기간 경과 물품 판매 행위나
원산지 둔갑 행위를 집중 점검하게 됩니다.

특히 코로나19 여파로
온라인 구매나 택배 배송이 늘어날 것으로 예상됨에 따라
온라인 판매를 주력으로 하는 업소도
점검할 계획입니다.

제주도는 고의적 불법행위나
재발 업소에 대해서는
영업정지 같은 행정처분과 형사고발할 방침입니다.
