Credit Card Consumption Skyrockets as Tourists Increase

As the number of tourists visiting Jeju increased, we are also seeing a significant surge in credit card consumption.

According to the Jeju Tourism Organization's analysis of credit card sales data in the first half of the year, tourists' credit card sales amounted to 1.82 trillion Won, up 30.4% from the same period last year.

In particular, the sales in the domestic tourism sector amounted to 1.65 trillion won, accounting for 41.3% of the province's total consumption, which is equivalent to sales made by residents which amounted to 1.82 trillion won.

By industry, luxury hotels increased by 31.9%, condominiums by 35.2%, and tourist travel agencies and chartered buses also increased by 87 percent and 62.9 percent, respectively while recovering demand for group travels.

제주를 찾는 관광객이 늘면서 신용카드 소비액도 크게 증가한 것으로 조사됐습니다.

제주관광공사가 올 상반기 신용카드 매출자료를 분석한 결과 관광객의 신용카드 매출액은 1조8천249억원으로 지난해 같은 기간보다 30.4% 늘었습니다.

특히 내국인 관광객의 매출액은 1조 6천 516억원으로 제주도 전체 소비의 41.3%를 차지하면서 제주도민 매출액 1조 8천 249억원과 맞먹는 것으로 조사됐습니다.

업종별로는 특급호텔은 31.9%, 콘도미니엄은 35.2% 늘었고 관광여행사와 전세버스도 각각 87%, 62.9% 증가해 단체여행 수요가 회복되는 것으로 분석됐습니다.
