Last Five-Day Market of the Year : Hopes for 2025



With the colder weather setting in, a popular winter snack, hotteok(호떡) or sweet Korean pancakes, drew massive crowds.

Waiting in line for freshly made hotteok felt worthwhile once you got a taste.

Even though we waited a long time, it was so delicious. It was great.
If I came alone, it might have felt ordinary, but coming with my friends made it fun. We got lost a lot, but we waited in line, bought some corn, and had a good time.


Fruit vendors saw a steady flow of locals and tourists buying seasonal goods such as tangerines and strawberries.

While the abnormal weather has driven up the prices of fruits and vegetables, they remain essential items in shoppers' baskets.


Although prolonged economic stagnation has tightened wallets, many still filled their shopping bags to ensure a plentiful year-end and New Year.

My family came out for a stroll today. Seeing so many people at the market has lifted my mood a bit. I hope the economy improves next year as much as my spirits have today.

We came out to shop for several things. I hope 2025 will bring economic growth and a great year for everyone.


Though the consumer price inflation rate remained relatively stable at around 2% this year, worsening consumption patterns have made it a tough time for vendors.


As we enter the new year, citizens hope for domestic and international stability, along with economic improvement.

This year was tough because the economy was so bad. I hope next year things improve, and the economy gets better than this year.

Warmth and vitality returned to the last market of the Year of the Blue Dragon.
Citizens and vendors alike wrapped up the year, wishing for the market’s vibrancy to become the norm in the New Year.




갑진년 마지막 오일장…"새해 경기 나아지길"

지난 27일 제주시민속오일장에선
올해 마지막 장이 열렸는데
모처럼 연말을 맞아 활력을 되찾았습니다.

시민과 상인들은
어려웠던 한해를 뒤로 하고
새해에는 이러한 시장의 활기가 일상이 되길 기원했습니다.



부쩍 추워진 날씨에
겨울철 대표 간식 호떡 가게는 손님들도 인산인해를 이룹니다.

갓 만들어진 호떡을 맛보면 기다린 시간이 아깝지 않습니다.

오래 기다려서 먹었는데 너무 맛있어서 좋았어요.
원래는 혼자 오면 그냥 그러려니 싶은데 친구들이랑 같이 오고 잘 돌아다니고 길을 많이 잃긴 했지만 많이 기다려서 옥수수도 사 먹고 좋은 것 같아요.

과일 가게엔 귤과 딸기 등
제철을 맞은 상품을 사려는
도민과 관광객들의 발길이 이어집니다.

이상기후 여파로
과일과 채소가격이 상승세를 보여 부담이 되지만
여전히 장바구니에서 뺄 수 없는
필수 품목들입니다.

경기 침체 장기화에 지갑이 얇아졌지만
풍요로운 연말연시를 위해
사람들은 저마다 양손 가득 장을 봅니다.

오늘 가족들이랑 나들이 나왔는데 오일장에 사람 이렇게 많은 것 보니깐 기분도 조금 풀리고 내년에 제 기분만큼 경기도 잘 풀렸으면 좋겠습니다.

여러 가지 살 것 있어서 나왔고요. 2025년도에는 경제가 더 발전돼서 좋은 한 해가 됐으면 좋겠습니다.

올들어 소비자 물가상승률은
2%대 안으로 비교적 안정세를 보였지만
소비 부진이 심화되면서
상인들도 힘겨운 시기를 보냈습니다.

을사년 새해는
국내외 정세가 안정되면서
경제 상황이 조금이나마 나아지길 바랍니다.

올해는 경제가 너무 어려워서 힘들었는데 내년에는 올해보다도 경제가 풀려서 좋아지면 좋겠어요.
