Amid economic instability, the price of gold - a leading safe haven asset, continues to soar. With demand surging, shortages are occurring nationwide including Jeju. However, the industry isn’t entirely welcoming the situation.

Due to the daily surge in gold prices, gold bars have been sold out.

With a flood of gold bar reservations, orders were even temporarily halted for several days.
Previously, customers would receive their orders the next day after purchase, but now they must wait more than a month for delivery.

With the economic downturn and rising gold prices, the cost of rings and earrings has also surged, causing demand to plummet.

Even for the most basic earrings, you could buy them for KRW 200,000 to 300,000 before. But now, if you find something decent, it's over KRW 1 million, which is too expensive. These days, we only get one or two customers a day, and that's it.

제일 기본적인 귀걸이를 하나 고르려고 해도 예전에는 2~30만 원이면 샀거든요. 근데 내가 괜찮다 싶으면 돈 100만 원 넘어가니깐 부담스럽죠. 요즘에는 보통 한 팀, 두 팀 그게 끝이에요.

"골드바 없어요"…금값 폭등에 품귀 현상

금값이 연일 고공행진을 하면서
골드바 물량이 매진됐기 때문입니다.

골드바 예약까지 쇄도해
최근 며칠간은 주문 자체가 중단되기도 했습니다.

예전엔 주문 다음 날 물건을 받았지만
지금은 주문을 하더라도
한 달 넘게 기다려야 합니다.

안전자산 선호 현상은 당분간 이어질 전망입니다.
