Last month, Jeju saw snowfall once every three days on average, the second-highest number of snow days ever recorded.

The Jeju Regional Meteorological Administration reported that snow fell on an average of 9.5 days last month, the second-highest on record. By location, Seogwipo saw snowfall on 9 days, the most ever recorded, while Jeju had snow on 10 days, ranking fifth.

The snowfall accumulation was 12.8 cm, which is higher than the average of 8 cm.
The Meteorological Administration explained that the snowfall was caused by the expansion of a continental high-pressure system and a cold pressure trough. These conditions formed snow clouds over the seas around Jeju, leading to heavy snowfall, especially in the mountainous areas.

제주지방기상청은
지난 달 눈이 온 날은 9.5일로 역대 두 번째 많았고
지점별로는
서귀포시가 9일로 역대 1위,
제주는 10일로 5위를 기록했다고 밝혔습니다.

적설량은 12.8cm로
평년의 8cm보다 많은 것으로 나타났습니다.

기상청은
대륙고기압이 확장하고 찬 기압골의 영향으로
제주 해상에 눈구름대가 만들어지면서
산지를 중심으로
많은 눈이 내렸다고 설명했습니다
