Suspect was woman’s taxi driver

Police have made an arrest in the 2009 murder of a local nursery school teacher.

Officers from the Jeju Provincial Police Agency arrested a 41-year-old man surnamed Park for the murder. He was apprehended at about 8:20 a.m. Wednesday in Yeongju-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do.

Park was the woman’s taxi driver, and he has been the main suspect in the case since the killing.

Police have brought him back to Jeju and are continuing their investigation.

9년간 장기 미제사건으로 남았던 보육교사 살인사건 피의자가 검거됐습니다.

제주지방경찰청은 오늘 오전 8시 20분 쯤 경상북도 영주시에서 49살 박 모 씨를 살인 혐의로 체포했습니다.

박씨는 사건 당시 유력 용의자로 지목됐던 택시기사로 알려졌습니다.

경찰은 오늘 오후 박씨를 제주로 압송해 추가 조사를 이어가고 있습니다.
