1. Crackdown on online public opinion manipulation
Investigators targeting paid groups in lead-up to June 13 elections

People will head to the polls June 13th to choose new local leaders, so the Jeju Election Commission is ramping up efforts to combat the manipulation of public opinion.

The commission’s cyber team will collect online data through election day. Investigators will be trying to determine if macro programs are being used to post comments on articles or artificially inflate the number of hits they get.

The commission will take especially strong action against groups of people who are paid to sway public opinion. It will immediately report all violations to the relevant authorities.

특히 대가를 받고 조직적으로 글을 게시하거나 사조직 등을 동원한 여론 조작 등도
집중적으로 살피고 관계기관에 통보하기로 했습니다.
