2. Democratic Party chooses Kim Tae-seok as council speaker
Kim recently re-elected to third term

The Democratic Party has chosen Kim Tae-seok to be the Jeju Provincial Council’s 11th speaker.

Party winners for provincial council seats in the recent elections held a workshop Wednesday and selected Kim, who was recently re-elected to his third term, as the speaker for the first half of the new council’s term.

Kim Kyeong-hak, who was also re-elected, was named the president of the Democratic Party of Jeju as well as the chair of the council operation committee.

Kim Tae-seok is expected to officially be named council speaker following further consultations.

더불어민주당 소속 도의원 당선자들은 27일 워크숍을 열고 전반기 의장으로 김태석 의원을 추대했습니다.

또 민주당 원내대표 겸 의회 운영위원장에는 재선인 김경학 의원을 선출했습니다.

도의회 상임위원장은 교섭단체 협의를 통해 최종 확정할 예정입니다.
