2. Feasibility study for 2nd airport more likely to be redone
Posco E&C has bid for contract

It’s becoming more likely that the location feasibility study for the island’s second airport will be redone.

The land ministry says it has begun assessing the suitability of Posco E&C consortium, which is the only entity that bid for the contract to study the feasibility of the site for the airport, as well as the basic plan for the facility.

National law allows for the awarding of contracts to the private sector in situations such as these in the second round of bidding.

If the contract is made, the company will study the feasibility of the planned airport based on objective data and surveys over the next year.

국토교통부는 최근 제2공항 입지선정 타당성 재조사와 기본계획 수립용역에 단독으로 응모한 포스코건설 컨소시엄에 대한 적격성 여부를 검토하고 있다며
이상이 없다면 수의계약을 체결할 것으로 알려지고 있습니다.

국가계약법상 2차 공모부터는 수의계약이 가능합니다.

만약 계약이 체결되면 앞으로 1년동안 객관적인 자료와 조사에 근거해 제주 제2공항의 입지선정 타당성을 재조사하게 되며 기본계획도 함께 수립합니다.
