2. Police charge owners of 16 accommodation facilities
Violations include houses in ‘green zones’ being illegally used as lodgings

The Jeju Municipal Police is charging the owners of 16 accommodation facilities with various legal violations.

Among the infractions: five stand-alone houses were built in designated green zones, where lodgings are not allowed, and were then operated as pensions without receiving the proper permits to do so. Other rural lodgings were found to have used facilities not included as part of their officially designated guest rooms.

The police have filed criminal charges against the owners of the accommodations, and they say they will intensify their crackdown on these types of violations.


자치경찰, 불법숙박업소 무더기 적발

제주특별자치도자치경찰단이 불법영업으로 부당이득을 챙긴 숙박업소 16곳을 무더기로 적발했습니다.

주요내용을 보면 숙박업을 할 수 없는 자연녹지에 단독주택 5동을 짓고 신고없이 펜션 영업을 하는가 하면 일부 농어촌 민박업소의 경우 등록된 객실 외에서 영업을 일삼은 것으로 나타났습니다.

자치경찰은 이번에 적발된 숙박업소의 업주를 형사입건하는 한편 이에 대한 지도 단속을 강화할 방침입니다.
