4. Jeju Olle Foundation envisions walking trails in North Korea
Suggestion submitted to Blue House, unification council, etc.

The Jeju Olle Foundation is trying to set up Olle walking trails in North Korea.

The foundation recently submitted a plan to the Blue House, the National Unification Advisory Council, and other agencies detailing its proposal to use the trails eco-travel infrastructure and as a means of inter-Korean communication.

The main thrust of the proposal is to bridge the divide between North and South Koreans by establishing so-called “Peace Olle” trails in the north.

The foundation suggests creating a private organization to realize its goal with the help of NGOs on both sides of the border.

사단법인 제주올레가 북한에 올레길 개설을 추진합니다.

제주올레는 최근 '트레일을 활용한 생태여행 기반 구축과 남북 소통 협력사업'을
청와대와 민주평화통일자문회의 등 관련기관에 제안했습니다.

제주의 올레를 북한으로도 수출해 남북한 주민의 소통 통로 역할을 하자는게 주 내용입니다.

이를 위해 제주올레는 '평화올레 남북한 민간협력추진기구'를 구성해 남북한 민간단체를 주축으로 평화올레길을 만든다는 구상입니다.
