1. Police plan to question governor
Won Heeryong accused of election violations

Police are expected to soon summon Governor Won Heeryong in for questioning as part of an investigation into allegations that he violated the Public Official Election Act.

The Jeju Provincial Police Agency says the governor is accused of pre-electioneering and spreading false information. It plans to summon him in for questioning by the end of the month.

Immediately following his inauguration as governor in 2014, Won was accused of receiving preferential treatment, including being given special memberships for a housing facility and Biotopia Golf Course, and of distributing false information about the Jeju Dream Tower.

'선거법 위반 혐의' 원희룡 지사 이달 중 소환

지난 6.13 지방선거에서 공직선거법 위반 혐의로 고발된 원희룡 제주도지사에 대한 경찰 소환조사가 조만간 이뤄질 전망입니다.

제주지방경찰청은 원희룡 지사에 대해 공직선거법상 사전선거운동과 허위사실공표 등의 혐의로 입건하고 이달 안으로 소환할 예정이라고 밝혔습니다.

원 지사는 지난 2014년 도지사 취임 직후 비오토피아 고급 골프장과 주거시설 특별회원권 특혜의혹과 드림타워 관련 허위사실 유포 등의 혐의로 고발된 상태입니다.
