Seogwipo population to surpass 190,000

The Jeju City population is forecast to top 500,000 by the end of the month.

According to a provincial government census, the city’s population was about 498,700 last month.

That’s 695 more than in July, so if the population keeps growing at the same pace, it will top 500,000 by the end of September.

On the south side of the island, 189,800 people were living in Seogwipo last month. That total is expected to surpass 190,000 this month.

제주시 인구 이달 안 50만 명 돌파

제주시 인구가 이달 안으로 50만 명을 돌파할 전망입니다.

제주도가 발표한 인구현황에 따르면 지난달 기준 제주시 인구는 49만8천700여 명으로 집계됐습니다.

이는 지난 7월대비 695명 늘어난 것으로 최근 추세대로라면 이달 안에 50만 명을 넘어설 것으로 보입니다.

서귀포시 역시 지난달 인구가 18만9천8백여 명에 이르면서 이달 안으로 19만 명 돌파를 눈앞에 두고 있습니다.
