Governor denies media reports suggesting otherwise

The governor says recent reports that suggest his administration is considering building a helicopter landing pad at Hallasan Mountain’s crater lake are false.

Won Heeryong says helicopters have already been able to land near Baengnokdam??they’ve brought researchers there for drilling and exploration purposes. He argues there is therefore no need for separate landing facilities.

The governor added that he is against the construction of any landing pad around Baengnokdam, and he maintained that his administration would not install any facility that would damage the environment.

원희룡 지사가 한라산 백록담에 헬기 착륙장을 검토하고 있다는 일부 보도 내용은 사실무근이라고 밝혔습니다.

원 지사는 이전에도 시추와 탐사 목적으로 헬기가 백록담 분화구에 착륙한 적이 있다며 별도의 착륙시설은 필요하지 않다고 강조했습니다.

아울러 한라산 백록담에 인공적인 헬기착륙장 건설에 반대하며 앞으로도 환경을 훼손하는 어떤 시설물도 설치하지 않겠다고 덧붙혔습니다.
