1. Free education, school meals for all students
No K-12 student will pay for school meals beginning this year

Beginning this year, all school meals and education through high school is completely free on the island.

During a Wednesday press conference, representatives of the provincial education office said student meals will be free for all students in kindergarten through high school.

The office will also provide financial assistance for the treatment of four types of disease as well as for after-school activities for students from large families.

Students starting middle school this year will not have to pay the full price of their school uniforms. Textbooks will also be free for them?that benefit had been only available to students at vocational schools and those from the low-income bracket.

Finally, the education office will execute its budget in order to make support the purchase of graduation albums for students from low-income families.

올해부터 무상 급식과 교육이 전면 시행됩니다.

제주도교육청은 9일 오전 기자회견을 열고 올해부터 유치원과 초,중,고등학교에서 무상 급식을 시행한다고 밝혔습니다.

또 4대 질병 학생 의료비와 다자녀가정 자녀의 방과후 수업료를 지원합니다.

올해 중학교 입학생에게는 교복비와 함께 그동안 특성화고와 저소득층에게만 적용됐던 교과서 비용도 지원됩니다.

교육청은 이 밖에도 저소득층 자녀의 졸업 앨범비용이 지원되는 등 올해를 교육복지특별도로 만들기 위한 예산을 집행한다고 밝혔습니다
