2. Jeju employment rate falls in December
Down 2.1 percentage points compared to December 2017

The Jeju employment rate has fallen.

Statistics Korea says the local employment rate in December was 68.6 percent. That’s a 2.1-percentage-point year-on-year drop.

The employment rate among men declined 1.7 points, while that for women fell 2.2 points.

Employment expanded over the period in agriculture and fishing; electricity, transportation, and telecommunications; wholesale and retail; and accommodations. Those gains couldn’t, however, offset greater job losses in mining, construction, and small businesses.

통계청에 따르면 지난달 기준 제주지역 고용률은 68.6%로 지난해 같은 기간보다 2.1%p 떨어졌습니다.

성별로 보면 남성은 1.7%p, 여성은 2.2%p 감소한 것으로 나타났습니다.

산업별로 보면 농림어업과 전기.운수.통신업, 도소매 숙박업의 경우 증가했지만
광공업과 건설업, 개인 사업 등에서 큰 감소세를 보였습니다.
