Greenland Intl. Hospital opponents vow to press charges against governor


Local activists say they want to learn the truth about suspicions that domestic hospitals and doctors are indirectly participating in the establishment of Greenland International Hospital.

A local umbrella organization comprising civic groups and political parties that was established to oppose for-profit hospitals, like Greenland, as well as improve public medical care held a press conference Tuesday.

Organization representatives insisted that the original business plan for Greenland International Hospital be publicly released. They also announced intentions to file charges against the former minister of health and welfare and Governor Won Hee-ryong for violating the ordinance that bans the indirect use of domestic capital in this project.
