1. Fine dust emergency mitigation measures issued in Jeju
Mandatory reduction efforts are enforced on Tuesday

Emergency measures have taken effect in Jeju for the first time to mitigate levels of fine dust particles. Fine dust has hit dangerous levels for two consecutive days across the island.

Employees of public institutions were subjected to the ‘alternative driving day system’ to regulate vehicle use, and operating hours for over a hundred sites including public projects and dust scattering sites were adjusted.

Construction work was also reduced, and work sites were frequently sprayed with water in an effort to control airborne dust particles.

The provincial office recommends the use of public transportation while the levels remain high.

미세먼지 농도가
이틀 연속 나쁨 수준을 보이고 있는 가운데
제주에서도 오늘 처음으로
미세먼지 비상저감 조치가 발령됐습니다.

이에따라
모든 공공기관에서 차량 2부제를 실시하고
공공 사업장과 비산먼지발생사업장 등 100여 곳에 대해
운영 시간을 조정했습니다.

또, 공사현장에서는
비산먼지가 발생하는 작업을 자제하고
수시로 살수작업을 시행하고 있습니다.

더불어 제주도는
배출가스 5등급 차량의 운행을 자제하고
자가용 대신 가급적 대중교통 이용을 당부했습니다.
