4. 40% decrease in housing construction area in Jeju City
The area for multiple dwellings decreases the most by 60%

Less houses in Jeju City are being built.

The city officials says 806 housing construction permits were issued during the second quarter of this year. Those permits were for 202,000 square meters and that’s 40 percent less than the same period last year.

The building permit area for single family detached houses dropped by 22 percent, while that of multiple dwellings and apartments plunged by 60 and 38 percent, respectively.

The municipal officials attributes the decrease to Seoul’s tightening regulations for mortgage loan and increase in the number of unsold houses in Jeju City caused by high sales prices.

제주시 지역 주택 건축허가 처리면적이 감소한 것으로 나타났습니다.

제주시에 따르면
올해 2분기 주거용 건축허가 면적은
806건에 20만2천여㎡로
지난해 같은 기간에 비해 40% 감소했습니다.

유형별로는 단독주택이 22%, 다가구 주택 60%,
공동주택인
다세대와 연립, 아파트는 38% 감소한 것으로 집계됐습니다.

제주시는 건축허가 면적이 감소한 것은
정부의 대출 규제 강화와 높은 분양가로 인한 미분양이
지속적으로 이어지고 있기 때문으로 풀이했습니다.
