5. Seogwipo City pushes to create healthy forests in Namwon-eup
Officials plan on branch pruning and thinning

Seogwipo Municipal Office secured 380 million won in project funds from the Korea Forest Service to launch a project creating healthy forests in Namwon-eup.

The project will cover 250 hectares of national forest, including some areas in Sumang-ri, Namwon-eup. Officials plan on branch pruning and forest thinning after researching on the forest areas subject to the project.

Seogwipo Municipal Office spent 150 million won last year to nurture state-owned forests.

서귀포시가
산림청으로부터 3억 8천여만 원의 사업비를 확보해
건강한 숲 만들기 사업을 추진합니다.

이번 사업 대상은
남원읍 수망리 중산간 일대를 포함한
국유림 250여 헥타르로,
숲 진단과 실시설계를 거쳐
가지치기와 간벌 등을 실시할 예정입니다.

한편 서귀포시는 지난해
사업비 1억 5천만 원을 투입해
국유림 가꾸기 사업을 추진했습니다.
