Anchovy catch increases by 90-fold

Local fishermen are hauling in much larger catches, as fishing grounds of anchovy have formed at the island’s waters.

According to the Honam Regional Statistics Office, the second quarter catch of the general fishing industry was 13,000 tons. That’s 11.5 percent higher than the same period last year.

It should be noted that the anchovy catch showed the most significant increase by 90-fold and saurel catch nearly tripled.

제주 주변해역에 멸치 어장이 형성되면서
어업생산량이 크게 증가했습니다.

호남지방통계청에 따르면
올해 2분기 제주지역 일반해면어업 생산량은 1만 3천톤으로
지난해 같은 기간에 비해 11.5% 증가했습니다.

특히 멸치 생산량이
90배 이상 늘며 가장 큰 증가폭을 보였고
전갱이류도 3배 가까이 증가한 것으로 집계됐습니다.
