1. Province warns against tick bites
Increased outdoor activities and grave tidying increase risks of infection
Local officials are warning the public to guard against tick bites in preparation for Chuseok holidays.
This is due to increased outdoor activities during the fall season due to traditional grave tidying during the national holiday.
According to the province, four patients of Severe Fever with Thrombocytopenia Syndrome have been confirmed this year, with a woman in her 70s diagnosed with the deadly virus on the 20th of August.
In order to prevent SFTS or Scrub Typhus, officials are advising the public to wear long sleeves and pants and go see a doctor immediately when experiencing fever and headache.
