3. Jeju road rage case offender faces multiple charges
Assaulter indicted for child abuse

The 32-year old offender of the local road rage case, also known as the ‘Jeju Carnival Case’, has been booked without detention by the Jeju Dongbu Police Station under charges of assault, property damage and child abuse.

According to police, the man allegedly assaulted the victim when the two fell into dispute over the offender’s violent driving at an intersection in Jocheon-eup on July 4th.

In addition, with advice from an agency specializing in child abuse, the offender has also been charged with child abuse as the victim’s children were present at the scene.

제주동부경찰서는
제주 카니발 폭행 사건 가해자 32살 A씨를
특가법상 운전자 상해와 재물손괴,
아동복지법상 아동학대 혐의로 검찰에 불구속 송치했습니다.

경찰에 따르면
A씨는 지난 7월 4일 조천읍 진드르 교차로에서
끼어들기 운전에 항의한 운전자를 폭행하고
휴대폰을 던진 혐의를 받고 있습니다.

또한 아동학대전문기관의 자문을 얻어
운전자를 폭행 당시
함께 타고 있던 피해자의 아이들이
상황을 인지한 것으로 보고
아동학대 혐의를 적용한 것으로 알려졌습니다.
