5. Airport noise complaint center opens in Jeju
Center to offer education and culture projects for islanders

To deal with noise complaints filed from local residents living near Jeju International Airport, the province opened an airport noise control center on Wednesday.

The center is located at Yongdam-dong, Jeju City. It handles airport noise complaints, provides consultation for local residents, measures airport noise and offers related data.

The center will also serve as a place for education and culture projects for local residents.

This is the second center for airport noise control nationwide, after the first one was launched in Seoul.

제주국제공항 인근 소음 피해지역 주민들을 지원하기 위한
전문센터가 30일 문을 열고 본격 운영에 들어갔습니다.

제주시 성화마을회관 3층에 자리한 공항소음민원센터는
앞으로 객관적인 분석을 통해
항공기 소음 피해지역 주민들의 민원접수와 피해상담,
소음측정과 자료제공 등을 전담하게 됩니다.

이와함께 주민대상 교육과 문화사업 뿐 아니라
소통창구 역할을 담당할 계획입니다.

공항소음민원센터가 문을 연 건 서울에 이어 전국에서 두번째 입니다.
