Provincial council chair expresses regret toward committee’s decision

Provincial council Chairman Kim Tae-seok expressed regret over the steering committee’s decision to shelve the resolution on the formation of a special committee for the public survey on the island’s second airport.

Chairman Kim said in his closing remarks at the second general meeting of the 377th preliminary session held on Thursday that the steering committee let the people down by delaying the decision that islanders have all been waiting for.

He added that the provincial council has a duty to convey the islander’s sentiments correctly. Kim stressed that he will continue to seek ways to convey the will of the people to Seoul and make sure the provincial council plays its role faithfully.

의회는 민심을 올바르게 전해야 하는
의무가 있다며 도민의 뜻이
정부에 전달될 수 있는 방법을
계속 모색하면서 의회 역할을
성실히 수행하겠다고 강조했습니다.
