Jeju mandarin orange prices are lower than last year.

According to the Jeju Citrus Marketing & Shipping Association, a 5 kilogram box of outdoor grown mandarin oranges is being sold at 6,800 won today. Its price has been remaining in the 6,000 won range, which is lower than last year’s price at around 7,000 and 8,000 won at this time of the year.

Officials are planning to visit wholesale markets in other regions to promote Jeju mandarin oranges as they believe that the demand for the fruit fell due to the overall economic recession and the illegal distribution of substandard fruits.

지난달 19일 5kg 상자당 평균 6천 원에서
12월 3일 6천 800원대로 상승했습니다.

지난해 이맘때 7~8천 원선에 비해
낮은 가격입니다.

제주도는
경기침체로 소비가 둔화되고
비상품 감귤도 다량 출하되기 때문으로 보고
다른지역 시장을 방문해
감귤 홍보에 주력하고 있습니다.
