Police concludes investigation of April 15 general election fraud
26 offenders indicted by provincial police

Police have concluded an investigation of election fraud related to the April 15 general elections.

The Jeju Provincial Police Agency reported that out of 33 cases, police recommended 26 indictments to prosecutors. during the last general election.

The remaining seven were not prosecuted.

The number of donation-related violations was the highest with nine suspects in four cases, followed by four suspects in seven cases related to false elections, and five suspects in five cases related to election violence.

Meanwhile, three incumbent lawmakers of Democratic Party of Korea were also investigated for violating election laws. Lawmakers Oh Young-hoon and Wi Sung-gon were cleared of all charges.

제주지방경찰청은
지난 총선 과정에서 공직선거법 위반 혐의로 수사를 받은
33명 가운데 26명을 기소의견으로 검찰에 송치했다고 밝혔습니다.

나머지 7명에 대해서는 불기소 처분을 내렸습니다.

유형별로는 금품선거가 4건에 9명으로 가장 많고
거짓말 선거 7건에 4명, 선거폭력이 5건에 5명 순입니다.

한편 더불어민주당 소속 현역 국회의원 3명도
선거법 위반 혐의로 고발돼 조사를 받았지만
오영훈과 위성곤 의원은 무혐의 처분을 받았습니다.
