Fishermen to face fewer conditions for transfer payments
Lower barriers to the entry of heirs of fishermen

The province has eased the conditions of the direct payment system for fishermen and is actively encouraging participation.

The direct payment system offers a grant when a fisherman aged 65 or older and under 75 passes on his or her qualification as a fisherman to a successor under the age of 55.

Up until now, the successor fishermen had to be registered as a member of the National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives to receive the grant, however conditions were eased by the Enforcement Decree of the Fisheries Cooperatives Act.

The province is expected to lower the barriers to entry for fishermen’s heirs and increase income for elderly fishermen with this revision.


4. 어업인 경영이양 직불제 신청 조건 완화

제주도가 그동안 까다로웠던
어업인 경영이양 직불제 조건을 완화하고
적극적인 신청을 당부했습니다.

경영이양 직불제란
만 65살 이상, 75살 미만 어업인이
55살 이하의 후계 어업인에게 어촌계원 자격을 넘길 경우
직불금을 지급하는 제돕니다.

그동안 후계 어업인은
해당 지역 수협 조합원으로 가입돼 있어야
경영 이양이 가능했지만,
수산업 협동조합법 시행령을 개정해
이 같은 조건을 완화했습니다.

제주도는 이번 시행령 개정으로
후계 어업인의 진입장벽을 낮추고
고령 어업인의 소득 증대에 도움이 될 것으로 기대하고 있습니다.
