4·3 Special Act Amendment Passed

The revised bill of the 4.3 Special Act which includes compensation measures for the victims has been passed by the National Assembly’s Legislative Subcommittee of the Public Administration and Security Committee.

The Public Administration and Security Committee
held a meeting on the 22nd and passed the revision
of the 4.3 Special Act with some changes made by the committee.

The revision bill stipulates that the amount of 90 million won
per person will be compensated for people who perished
or went missing due to the April 3rd Incident.

In addition, lineal descents including cousins who are recognized as
bereaved family members will be eligible to request compensation.

As the revision bill has passed the subcommittee,
the bill will be submitted to a plenary session of the
National Assembly after review by the
Public Administration and Security Committee’s general meeting
and the Legislation and Judiciary Committee.


4·3특별법 개정안, 국회 행안위 법안심사소위 통과

제주 4.3 희생자에 대한 보상금 지급 기준을 담은 4.3특별법 개정안이
국회 행정안전위원회 법안심사 소위원회를 통과했습니다.

국회 행안위는 법안심사 제1소위원회는
오늘 회의를 열어
병합심사한 4.3특별법 개정안에 대해 위원회 대안으로 의결했습니다.

개정된 내용은 제주 4.3 사건으로 인한 사망 또는 행방불명 등
희생자에 대해 1명당 보상금으로 9천만 원을 균분 지급하는 것을 기준으로 삼고 있습니다.

또한 유족으로 인정된 4촌이 사망한 경우
이를 물려받은 직계비속이 보상청구권을 갖도록 상속 범위도 확대했습니다.

한편 4.3특별법 개정안이 이번 법안 소위를 통과함에 따라
앞으로 행정안전위원회 전체 회의와
법제사법위원회를 거쳐 국회 본회의에서 의결될 예정입니다.
