Petition on Public Bus System Submitted

The Jeju branch of the Justice Party and Jeju office of the Korean Public Service and Transport workers' Union said that they will submit a petition with 1,000 signatures that asks for the expansion of public buses to operate to the provincial council.

They said that many people are dissatisfied with the long intervals between buses and inconvenience with current bus routes.
They have gathered consensus among residents that acknowledge
that a sufficient amount of local taxes are used to support bus corporations yet the satisfaction level with public buses has lowered.

This petition began on October 26th and is being conducted online and through street signature campaigns.

They are planning to publicize the transformation
to the public bus system through this petition.

정의당 제주도당과 민주버스본부 제주지부가
도민 1천여 명이 동참한
버스공영제 확대 청원을
제주도의회에 제출한다고 밝혔습니다.

불안정한 버스 배차 간격과
불합리한 버스 노선에 대한 도민 불만이 높았고
막대한 세금이
버스회사에 지원되지만
만족도가 떨어지는 데에
도민들과 공감대를 형성했다고 설명했습니다.

이번 청원은 지난 10월 26일부터
온라인과 길거리 서명운동을 통해 진행됐습니다.

이들은 이번 청원을 계기로
버스공영제 전환을 위한 공론화를 요구할 계획입니다.
