Jeju outdoor grown tangerines have been sold at a record price in the last five years.

According to the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, tangerines recently traded in the wholesale market at an average of 10,500 won per box of 5KG, 55% higher than the same period last year.

This was an unprecedented record in the past five years with the transaction price exceeding 10,000 won in December, the harvesting season for outdoor grown tangerines.

This year's outdoor grown tangerines have been confirmed to have better quality with a higher sugar content than previous years. Some estimate Christmas and year-end sales as contributing factors.
